Religious Education at Holy Cross Catholic Church

Religious Education at Holy Cross Catholic Church supports children, youth, and adults as they grow in knowledge of the Catholic faith and deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ. Rooted in Scripture, Tradition, and the teachings of the Church, our parish is committed to forming lifelong disciples in the Catholic tradition.

Our Mission

Together with the pastors, the Religious Education Program at Holy Cross Catholic Church facilitates the growing of the faith in order to create lifelong disciples of Christ in the traditions of the Holy Catholic Church.

What Is Catholic Religious Education?

Catholic Religious Education is more than classroom learning. It is a lifelong process of formation that helps individuals understand the beliefs of the Catholic Church, participate fully in the sacramental life, and live out their faith in daily life.

At Holy Cross, Religious Education includes:

  • Learning Sacred Scripture and Catholic teachings
  • Preparing for the Sacraments
  • Growing in prayer and Christian community
  • Forming a strong moral foundation rooted in Christ

Faith Formation for All Ages

Religious Education at our parish serves the entire community, including:

Faith Formation classes help children and teens grow in their understanding of the Catholic faith while preparing for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation.

Catholic School & Parish Education

Catholic education is an important part of life at Holy Cross. Holy Cross Catholic School, located next to the church, serves students from pre-kindergarten through sixth grade in a faith-filled and supportive learning environment. Through prayer, strong academics, and a focus on service, students are encouraged to grow in both knowledge and faith. Families are invited to learn more about the school’s programs and community by visiting the school website.

Sacraments & Preparation

Children, youth, and adults may prepare for the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation). Preparation depends on age and prior baptism, and in some cases sacraments are celebrated together. Sacramental preparation is a journey of faith that involves prayer, learning, and participation in parish life.
